Just out of curiosity, what makes you believe that? The evidence is out there.....you just have to open your eyes. Was 9/11 born of that desire? It was borne out of a desire to stay out of Saudi Arabia or what they consider mecca. How about the attack on the Cole? See above. Did we do something to "deserve" those attacks, i.e, interfered with their "desire to be left alone, self determination, in their own corner of the world"? Yes. If so, what did we do? Specifically, they consider all of SA as holy land. They see our bases as a violation of a sacred land. They see our support of the Saudi gov't as an abomination. When we landed on the side of Saddam over an Islamic theocracy, they saw that as evil. They are religious fanatics....what can I say? Why was war declared on us in 1998? It was declared before that......if not formally, then informally. See above. I've been reading a number of opinions around SI concerning our "creation" of more terrorists, yadda yadda yadda. But the current Iraq situation does not explain what took place years before the invasion, does it? Yes, it does. I'm curious as to how you reconcile these issues. I don't know about John but its not confusing to me.
