I'm pretty sure Cisco is looking to push more and more of their business into the service model. Maybe some here who know the inner workings of Cisco can comment. All these companies are going to offer a "pay for use" model and apparently the GMs on this type of business are higher than standard equipment. That is what I have heard.

I completely agree, but there was an abrupt increase in service revenue a few years ago -- from 10% of total revenue in 2000 to 17% in 2002. Do you recall the major cause(s) for that?
