I was not making the claim that democracy has been a great success in the nations where Islam is the predominant religion. (In fact calling any existing country "Islamic" is an insult to the religion of the Qur'an. I believe democracy is a fundamental requirement of an uncorrupted Islamic Uma.

I am hopeful. In fact, I don't see any hope for the world in its current state until the scholars of Islam revisit that point. It would cause a reformation of the noble religion that was established nearly 1400 years ago.

I will find the post in which I laid out the rationale and link it for you.
