John, People have called Bush many things including such biblical terms as......satan, a demon, the spawn of satan, the anti Christ etc. I have always gotten a chuckle out of those terms........we are nothing if not a religion based culture......even the most secular among us. But I have to tell you, with each passing day, the anti Christ moniker is beginning to sound more and more believable to me. I mean how else could we have gotten into such a mess.....our economy is floundering badly......forget the job reports; commodity prices are starting to go through the roof; budget deficits rule the day; significant inflation is just around the corner; we are at each other's throats; we are turning out to be a nation of very opinionated individuals with very divergent views as to the future direction of the nation; most of the world hates us; we have few allies left; we are in a war where we are getting our asses kicked badly and some of our army personnel act as corrupted as ancient Rome. Are these not the last days? Then on top of all of it, we have a man, Nick Berg, horrifically murdered by the enemy. His family is devastated and the rest of us are 'lucky' enough to know that his killing was so brutal that Berg screamed at the top of his lungs until death finally took him over. We are told that Berg was a great guy......smart, thoughtful, caring, well liked. His friends and family are over the top with their grief. Of course, no one is asking what the hell was Berg doing over in Iraq. He didn't have a job but instead it seems he was looking for one in Iraq while having an adventure. Now he was doing this in a nation that has been at war for nearly a year and in a horrific mess. How can anyone have been quite that stupid? And yet Americans are that naive and stupid......we have very little experience in the world outside our own country. We get into messes and then we wonder why all hell breaks loose. And, of course, we blame the other guy for the mess.......after all, we are Americans.......God's chosen people.....or is that the Jews.....I get us all confused? Do we ask ourselves what the hell was Berg doing over in Iraq? Nah.......instead he has become our justification for killing the rest of the "insects", the "cockroaches", the "gooks". Yup, we have license to do whatever we want now in Iraq. Berg's death has given us that right. And of course, after those pics of our soldiers playing sex games with Iraqis, the Iraqis fervently believe that its open season on Americans. And this, folks, is how blood feuds get started. I am sure there were similar incidents that led to the feud between the Prots. and the Caths. in N. Ireland; the same with the Palestinians and the Zionists. Those incidents build one on top of the other until eventually no one can remember what happened to whom. Instead, these people were started down the road of decades of killing and torture and maiming. Surprise, surprise......they continue on that same road to this day. Now I ask you.........could an anti Christ have done any better of a job than this horrible, twisted mess. Really......if it feels evil, talks evil and walks evil, can it be anything but evil? When I think back to where we were in 2000 and where we are now, I am in total shock. I hope something can be done before its too late.......actually, it may be too late already. And what of Pfc. Maupin? Why is the army not trying to rescue him? Its too much to think what the Iraqis are doing to him. I am sickened by this mess we are in.....a mess that did not have to happen. ted
