UW,

I fear we may need to take more hits before we really get fighting mad

Absolutely, but thats unfortunately how democracies work. Going back to WW2 - many conspiracy theories still abound on how FDR 'let' Pearl Harbor happen to get us in the war. However popular that war appears now - it took additional attacks on the Philipines and the brutality of Corregidor to convince some. Even then (in that era) some argued that we caused the Japanese aggression.

I guess we 'failed' to concede China and South East Asia to them :-)

For liberals and apologists - 9/11 is a distant memory and Ashcroft and Bush are omnipresent evils.

The only justice in that opinion - is that most of these types of individuals live in major target centers - NY, Chicago, LA, DC and of course San Fran.

Of course the survivors will sue Ashcroft for not protecting them better.
