You are pretty fearless when it comes to endorsing the use of torture on other people.

There's an essay by Montaigne entitled "Cowardice is the mother of cruelty."

Also, I like Bertrand Russell's comment, "Ruthlessness is admirable when one directs it at oneself."

Well, to be realistic, one has to admit that there are people in the world with views like yours and always have been. It's the job of civilization to see that you are kept in your place.

All the degradations of human beings, and all the murders, and all the babies and women killed, are ALL terrible. The real question is "What are we going to do to minimize degradations and killings?" On the answer to this, many of us will disagree. But we ought not disagree on the fact that torture, and maiming, and murder are awful, no matter who they happen to- and these acts cannot be justified by any zealous ideology.
