Didn't Bush put us in Iraq without enough troops to provide security and guard the prisoners?

The moral rot starts at the top, not at the bottom.
When the rightwing took us to war based on lies and fear tactics, we wanted to trust them. But now we cannot.

The rightwing leadership gives signals to the military that the bad old days are back. No more Mister Nice Guy, we can be just as savage as terrorists ourselves and it's OK. Gestapo tactics? No problem. A revenge for 9-11 thing even though Iraq had nothing to do with it.

Most troops or mercenaries aren't going to turn into depraved savages but like we saw in Vietnam, when the rightwing leadership looks the other way there will be gross offenders.

Instead of trying to cover up as usual and avoid accountability, the rightwing should look themselves in the mirror and admit the mistakes they've made. Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz should step down and Cheney should resign too. They have all done us wrong.

Kerry was correct today in saying that someone like McCain would do a far better job and be much more trustworthy. So long as these neocons are in charge nothing good can come of it.
