what was the high job posting for Dice in 2000? 135K or something right? I know you have posted this before.

The Monster CEO was on Lou Dobbs last year talking about new recs. The monster guy was trying to make a point that IT jobs are the core of the US economy now. The counterpoint guy was defending offshoring and said no, that the US needed to create "higher value" work than IT. I thought then that we would only get a jobs recovery when IT rebounded and I think thats exactly what happened. IT has started to rebound for a number of reasons but one really important reason is that the offshoring trend is mitigating a little. IT and the R&D/Mfg companies to build IT infrastructure were the growth engines of the late 90s and this is a brand new industry from an economic perspective so we need to keep expertise here and jobs here in the sector.
