They are definitely grumpy since the Twin Towers and 3000 people were destroyed. China is doing well, at last, having ditched some of Mao's mantras, but with attitudes like those mentioned in brianH's post, where Jiang thought that Chinese aren't fit to decide things for themselves, the rest of the world won't want them becoming a modern Kublai Khan. I know it's a lesson still to be learned by many, but the way to deal with other people is not by attacking them if they are Live and Let Live types. The Japanese attacked China and some Chinese know from bitter first hand experience that having soldiers attacking isn't a nice thing. You need to read more widely. You obviously didn't read John Stuart Mill's "On Liberty". That's a good place to start to change your murderous megalomaniac mindset and confiscatory kleptomaniac criminality. I'm sure you can be a good person, but you do need to reflect on how humans can enjoy happy harmony. Buying a CDMA2000 cyberphone is a good start. Use it often and the soothing, anodyne, phragmented photons will suffuse your brain, bringing you peace, light, harmony, happiness, health, prosperity, longevity, fun and love. What more could you want? There is no need to attack others who are minding their own business. Fortunately, Chinese in China are buying umpty million CDMA cyberphones and the magic is underway. If we can just get through another 3 or 4 years, so many of them will be seeing the light, literally, that silly talk of murdering Taiwanese will be in the past. A few of the old geezers running China probably rue the day that the revolution ended and they couldn't hack people up or shoot them any more. They'll die off and peace will reign.
