Yiwu, you are obviously bewildered about what's happening in China. They are buying CDMA faster than anyone. In Xian, the city is literally seething with it. That's about all anyone is doing there = selling CDMA cyberphones.

Yes, the W-CDMA 3G version is on hold, but that's because China's government realizes that CDMA2000 is where the action is. Also, Flarion might be useful to them in GSM spectrum. Have you heard of 1xEV-DO? Before you study Confucius and John Stuart Mill, read about 1xEV-DO.

1xEV-DO is fast data via cyberphones. Fast means fairly quick, at around 1.4 megabits per second. That's not fast compared with how fast humans can absorb visual data, but it's quite quick for a lot of purposes and much faster than the kludgy W-CDMA lumbering along at 384 kilobits per second with a following wind.

Not only that, but 1xEV-DO slips right in alongside existing CDMA2000 using 1.25 MHz with a low upgrade cost.

China has been watching Korean CDMA producers making a fortune. They figure that they could make a fortune too.

At least some Chinese are not as dumb as China government officials. The elite group thinking does not work well in a dynamic fast changing environment. Who says 3G is not mature yet? Think twice.
