We need greater fuel efficiency standards plus much cleaner engines. I have discussed cleaner boat engines with both a hydrogen investor and my friend who owns a yacht manufacturer. The problem now is that there is no infrastructure. We'd need hydrogen refeuling points at each marina and smaller more efficient engines. Boats are big polluters but besides sails the products just don't exist.

Speaking of sails, wind power should be encouraged everywhere that migrating birds won't be killed. It's free and it works. Ditto solar. Reagan cancelling Carter's solar program was a real crime against society and nature. By now we could have 10% of the nation's power run by solar. Kerry can start turning this around.
