You have some good points but not fairly balanced.

"I don't believe this war will get us anywhere ...

Wars don't have to be about personal profit. However, some progress has been made IMO. The despotic regime of Saddam has been crushed. The infrastructure of Iraq is beginning to take shape. The foundations for autonomous rule that recognizes human equality and freedom are in place. National security has not been solidified but is not a lost cause ... yet.

"not part of the war on terrorism but rather a war that was on the personal agenda of a few people in Washington. ...

I don't know what is in the personal hearts of the few in Washington. Some of them may have personal feelings about this war (many people pro and con have very personal issues involved). However that is not the whole story either. Even if (and I mean 'if' since I can't know what is in a man's heart) Bush personally hates Saddam, everything else that he says about his reasons for leading this mission can also be true.

"...that fact has been proven over and over again..."

Its a much bigger picture and unless some of us begin to look at this jewel from more than one perspective we will never be able to deal with it sensibly as a group.

"...hoping that things will change.

They rarely do until 'hope' becomes something that involves action for good. When the conditions are so horrendous as they are in Iraq, you can't just leave and 'hope' the problem goes away or heals itself...neglectfulness breeds undisciplined turmoil not peace and order.
