More satanic rather than barbaric. Abu Ghraib is barbaric and pictures would awe most people. The beheading is satanic ritual and too shocking a picture to show. News media doesn't mind barbarism but not yet willing to let society become used to satanic deeds. There have been several cases of such human killings and dismemberment of human cadavers in the US, the most famous one was Cleveland's Jeffrey Doehmer case. It is unknown if some of the victims were butchered while still alive. I guess most people are not familiar with that story, or just not willing to accept such things happens in US society. Also those cases when mothers killed their own babies and toddlers by drowning or suffocation, on account of some neuropsychotic illness? I wonder if there were cries, screams and struggles involved?
