Kennedy is quoted as saying, "Shamefully, we now learn that Saddam's torture chambers reopened under new management: U.S. management."

The wingers mistake concern with the torture with concern for the victims.

The primary reason the torture has gotten so much attention is that our soldiers did it. It is not that we feel the pain of the Iraqis, for the most part Americans don't feel much for arabs in general. The concern is that the US has been made to look barbaric and hypocritical by the acts.

The wingers then ask why we don't show similar concern when an American or Israeli is murdered ... the answer is quite simple, our troops did not do the murdering in those instances.
