At least that's the way I see it. Good op-ed piece about why Rummy should go in today's WSJ; not because of the prison abuse issue, but because he has miscalculated virtually every aspect of "post-war" Iraq. Acording to the original plan, by the end of this year we would be down to 30K troops and Iraqi oil would be paying for the reconstruction. LOL. This episode is one of the worst miscalculations in military/political history.

John, I so agree completely with that assessment. I had hoped the prison abuse would be the breaking point but it does not look like that will happen. He should have been fired long ago for his mismanagement of the war.

John,

The Brits are reporting that the pics of the Brit. torture victim are a hoax and now al Jazeera is questioning the veracity of the Berg beheading.

The Brits are saying that the equipment used in their torture pics was not standard issue for Iraq and that the victim should show more bruising and blood. Al Jazeera is suggesting that there should have been more blood with a beheading and think the beheading may have occurred after Berg was killed. They also raise questions about what Berg was doing over in Iraq in the first place.

Frankly, I don't know what is or isn't true anymore and I am disturbed that people would screw around with this stuff. I am not even sure why I am posting on the subject other than I feel a great deal of frustration with all the confusion over there.
