Leadership is about doing what you believe to be right, not what others want you to do. When Bush says "Rummy stays", despite what the NYT would probably describe as "everyone" calling for his head, THAT is leadership. The problems in Iraq originated in part from Bush taking State's side in how to proceed with reconstruction. He should have listened to the Pentagon to begin with. Powell has been wrong left and right, all the way back to Gulf War I. To jettison Rumsfeld, who has won two wars and strongarmed the services into transformation, is just plain stupid. Derek
