CBS, as have all the networks, has given time to the Berg beheading. Their coverage of it was no worse than the glossing over the hammering of Falujja got by the American media. Frankly, I think this whole "liberal media" thing is a bit of a myth. The prison abuses are huge news. Just think both Rummy and Bush probably knew about it and were still running around saying how they had "shut down Saddams torture and rape rooms". Thing is the prison abuse puts Bush and Rummy in a hugely hypocritical position - beheading Berg was just business as usual for the terrorists - it doesn’t make Bush less a hypocrite. That’s a big story during the occupation of Iraq and during an election year.
