It's true that Bush never really worked to get where he is today. This began in earnest when Bectel's George Schultz (a longtime Bush family ally and king-maker) approached GW to offer funding for his gubnatorial campaign. Up to that point, GW was a failed businessman and politician without any credentials except a very famous last name and a gift of gab. Bectel is being paid back now with huge contracts in Iraq and other places. Same as Halliburton on the Cheney side.

What's even more suprising is that the liberal NY Times has not featured this prominently on its front page.
