Neocons give "conservative" a bad name, and are anything but "conservative" about fiscal matters or in terms of conserving our society and environment. They're basically industrial frontmen allied especially with Big Oil, polluters of all types and the religious right. An unholy alliance if there ever was one.

I agree that Republicans aren't conservative. Historically, individualism and property rights, contrary to serfdom and people beholden to the king, is a liberal idea. It's today's liberals who want all of us to be subjected to the State and become serfs once again.
