Could part of the GC downdraft to wit you refer be attributed to the bad taste in s/h's mouths re: CEO selling shares at the same time the physical was offloaded?

I think Goldcorp is doing this for other reasons.

Mckewan is always looking to keep the company in the public eye. It generates interest, so he keeps coming up with stunts like this. Hoard gold, sell gold, selective release of old news, etc., etc. The amount of gold involved has been pretty small relative to the market cap.

The problem he's got is that he's been too successful with these gambits. Goldcorp is overvalued, and he'll need to do something to actually increase the value of the company to get the share price moving again.

It's strictly a trader for me right now. If it hits 12$ Canadian, I might take a flier.
