albert -- debt to GDP makes little sense because GDP is nonsense -- what we need is a different measure. A measure of debt to what?? what is a good measure??

How about incremental debt added to incremental savings added -- somehow we need to incorporate how those savings actually frees up capital to be used in the private sector. IF we could get such a measure it would be shocking, IMO.
