..i agree with the first paragraph; it's wrong to not develop something when you have the chance -- because you have to do it right, and that is expected -- you have to go where you say you will go. people will be disappointed if you don't and you can't alter perceptions if you don't meet expectations. there are ways you can say that.

you have to lay out the business as a business -- what mediates it; what opportunities it has; and certainly don't let anyone down. i don't time things from way back to jonas/idt; or balter -- because that doesn't fit (you want the company to change but you don't alter your own realization about what constitutes change that will benefit the stock/sharehodlers); i time change from Greenberg/cable telephony.

so steps are taken, and you can look at the actual movement or you can relate to that and the things that didn't work out. not everything was in their control. everybody got hit. no one got out from under that.

the recognition that that history existed is not past; while much of the new stuff has moved to a new scenario. there will be a break if ntop continues to perform. you have to stay current with it. recognize what really is progress. but realize there are still gaps because you yourself as a manager must deal with managers of other companies, who want other things. can anyone optimize a business to the ideal? we expect the ideal.

don't agree with the second paragraph.

so,

the cards have to roll out re charter, mediacom. and adelphia, but that is a long shot for sure. but we have to see what goes with the large size tier 2 cable msos. there may be something else going on, and so this came out as a feed. to time it in the middle of the day is naive. liberty media has a relationship with bresnah; and i believe charter has a past history (personnel?) with RCN.

my feeling about adelphia is that the co. itself wants to see what happens re bids. it doesn't know either. if charter should get a piece of adelpia, then that's another open possibility for ntop.

best,
