I just find some of the larger size SUVs unnecessary in an urban setting...

FWIW, I have a Subaru Outback wagon as my train station car.

There are moderate SUVs and Station Wagons. It's a question of degree.

It's also a question of laziness.

I am a backpacker. I don't need offroad vehicles. It's better to see offroad areas on foot. I don't even like bicycles in the National Forests although I'm an avid bike rider. You see more on foot and it's healthier and quieter and less damage to our natural heritage.

Same with picking up the groceries. It's a pain to put bags in the trunk and back seat but it's NOT THAT HARD. Woah! It's certainly not worth going to war about!
