I thought it was because the amount of ultra-violet light is going up.

Weirder yet, scientists are saying the number of skin cancers are going up because the amount of Sun light reaching the Earth's surface is going up.

Too make it worse, the sun blocks on the market are blocking the wrong rays. They are all going to have to be reformulated.
