repeat my prediction of many months ago that termination of TI's rights under the license agreement is NOT going to happen even if Q proves all its claims of breach

You are not alone--I agree with that notion, too, and any analyst who doesn't is not too smart. In fact, he's exposing his ignorance.

no lawsuit is going to stop competition

Of course. But TXN is probably going to have to buy a license, IMO, and pay royalties. Then it will compete. Suit is set for trial by judge in 8/04 so keep your ears close to the ground.

Thanks for a great recap from someone who doesn't yet have the time to listen to the presentations.

Propitious, Thanks for the factbits from Q’s analysts day presentation-

As one of the “select few” invitees, could you share with us some insight from an insider at the meeting re:?

1. How well attended was the meeting, and how does it compare to last years which I also believe you had the fortune of attending?

2. Could you describe the attentiveness of the attendees, did they appear to be on the edge of their seats, more subdued, or dosing off?

3. It was a long, non-stop presentation. Could you tell if most of the attendees stuck around to end and with a high level of attentiveness?

4. What is the composition of the invitee list (brokerage analysts, institutional investors- mutual fund managers, money managers, financial media- press/ journalists ) and can any of those get folks get invited?

5. Could you sense the impression of those who witnessed the presentations, and their general reaction (extremely positive, so-so, still skeptical)?

6. From a professional in the business, one who has followed the Q for a long time, and one who I recall is bullish on the Q, do you feel there is a general lack of understanding of the Q’s strengths by a significant number of professional investors and if so what could that could be attributed to?

TIA- jim

Two questions about the Spring Analyst Meeting

propitious,

Terrific post. Thanks very much for furnishing a birds eye view of the Spring Analyst Meeting at the Essex House.

I do have two questions - the answer to which is not apparent to those of us that weren't there mingling, and may or may not be apparent to those that were. <g>

1.) Do you have any idea if Qualcomm plans a formal launch of the MSM7xxx Convergence Platform beyond this meeting/pressreleasefest or do they consider this the formal launch despite the lack of collateral?.

2.) Was any indication given that the MSM6250 is production shipping, or if not, when it will?

Best,

- Eric -
