I think high altitude crud does get to the poles. The higher something is, the longer it takes to get out of the atmosphere.

Upper air circulation eventually will spread crud that's up there evenly or near evenly everywhere.

It's highly speculative to talk about how it might actually work, but crud is the answer.

Light diffused in the atmosphere will heat it more and the land and oceans less. I haven't the (ahem!) foggiest idea what this means for weather but it must have an effect....
