The difference between terrorists and those simply saying that they disagree with U.S. policies are very broad. Terrorists advocate violence to change policy. Others simply demonstrate non-violently. In this country, advocating violence in order to achieve political objectives has never been protected free speech. There is no need for the Patriot Act to prosecute people for making violent threats or hate crime type threats against jew and christians. One can be arrested for making such violent threats.
