I think we can all be outraged at a government that fails to protect children. I've been saying for AGES that we needed to strengthen our protection of already born children. We need to do more about child abuse, which makes life a living hell for many children. We need to do more about child neglect. We need to make a healthy and safe childhood a priority in this country (imo) because what better priorities could there be? 9/11, while terrible, impacted a minimal number of children- yet all across this country, every day, children are being injured and killed by abuse and neglect. Our priorities should take into account rational figures, and we should focus our energies on the greatest need, and the greatest number we can save, and relieving the world of torture and pain really ought to begin at home (imo).
