Beef, FDR couldn't figure any other way to get out of the depression.. so war looked like a way out of it.

Next big scandal: Bushie rightwing mercenaries and contractors in Iraq (which outnumber all British, Italian and Spanish troops in-country) being paid huge salaries by tax-payers and being able to wage private wars for various shady reasons without being under the jurisdiction of the US military, the Geneva Convention or anyone else.

Mega-gouger no-bid Halliburton alone has something like 24,000 operatives in-country. Many of them do jobs which soldiers or locals could do for 1/20th of the price. Big scandal since we are hemmoraging money in Iraq and the prison tortures have have been ordered by contractors commanding our troops. Very illegitimate and right up Cheney's alley.
