I can understand why you say claim that his family wasn't from the money side of the Forbes family. But the fact is, he did benefit tremendously from the Forbes Family Fortune. That a wealthy aunt took upon herself to pay for the education of Senator Kerry, meant that the Senator's father could work for the foreign service - instead of a higher paying private sector job (that he could easily have gotten through family connections). Did a rich aunt from the Disney family pay for your boarding school, and tuition at your ivy league college?

I have read that Kerry inherited somewhere between $300,000 and $1,600,000 from his mother (in Forbes and Winthrop family trusts). Nothing wrong with that, except it makes your claims on the Senator's wealth suspect.

re:"Kerry is not from the $$ side of the Forbes family. He inherited almost nothing and his parents couldn't even afford to send him to private schools."

"There are conflicting descriptions of what he did in the late 50's. He calls himself an "aviator" but the real story seems to be that he was behind a desk in Intelligence. Something to do with satellites. Spooky stuff" - American Spirit, May 14, 2004

Fact - Rumsfeld served in the Navy from 1954 to 1957, the first artificial satellite to orbit the earth was Soviet. The Sputnik which was launched in late 1957. The first American spy satellite was successfully launched two years later.

Exactly what special knowledge did a: junior grade, naval flight officer (without an engineering or science degree) have; that the Air Force would have decided, that they needed him to join the design team (and taken away from his naval duties as a flight instructor) of a Top Secret CIA/Airforce joint operation (to design the first intelligence satellite)?

"Rumsfeld served as an Air Force intelligence analyst and I don't even think there was a war going on at the time. He never flew a jet. Where did you pick up that BS" - American Spirit, July 2, 2003

Fact - Sec. Rumsfeld was a Naval Aviator, serving in the Navy from 1954 to 1957 (and in the Reserves till the 70's).

"Iraq has the second largest oil reserves in the world is what I meant, when producing 100% of capacity. New discoveries could change that a bit but they're basically #2 in peacetime." - American Spirit, May 14, 2004

Fact - Iraq is listed by the Energy Information Administration as having the 3rd largest oil reserves in the world - Behind (far behind) Saudi Arabia and Canada

"Iraq is the number 2 oil producer in the history of oil drilling" - American Spirit, March 1, 2004

Fact - The three largest producers of oil (historically) are: (in no particular order) The United States, Saudi Arabia, and Russia/Soviet Union. As of 2002, the three largest oil producers (in yearly production were): The United States, Saudi Arabia, and Russia.

"You got me on the kids not going to public school, I admitted that mistake before. Not a lie just a mistake." - American Spirit, May 14, 2004

"Bushes are very rich, the most elite and powerful family in the country... None of their kids have ever gone to public school, I guarantee you that" - American Spirit, May 6, 2004

"I never make up anything. But thanks for being so concerned about accuracy for a change." - American Spirit, May 8, 2004
