Mana, Of course, you are using a euro-centric point of view. I doubt if native Americans or Mexicans thought our westward expansion was all that great. And it would have never have happened without the cavalry clearing the land of undesirables before the capitalists came out of their hidey holes. Unregulated capitalism ALWAYS leads to monopoly capital and massive inefficiencies, which is the worst of all worlds. Regulation can rein in that tendency, though it is starting to emerge again under the brain dead Neocons. Actually, the neocons aren't that stupid. Their cartel will be the monopoly capitalists once they are finished demolishing America.
