Last nite on a local radio show that i listened to, the guest was talking about Bush/Giuliani ticket as being the substitue for not firing rummy.
This morning NYTimes there is an article talking up kerry/mccain ticket as far from a dead issue.
If either or both were to happen it is incumbant on both candidates to move quickly for once it is done by one, it probably wont be done by the other. Certainly McCain wouldnt run against Bush/Giuliani and Bush wouldnt pick Rudy in response to McCain.
These are strange times and i wouldnt rule out either. Cheney can always say health reasons. He just had his 50k mile pacemaker checkup. And it would be win/win for Rudy for if Bush loses he is positioned for Governor or Senate races coming up. And if Bush wins, G actually has a shot at the Presidency in 08, albeit a long one. Mike
