of course some readers will wish to travel back in time and point to some meeting with Saddam or some support we gave Saddam against Iran. from this they attempt the leap to 9/11 and argue that we really caused it on ourselves. Well since the GOP is focused on Kerry throwing his ribbons over a fence 35 years ago, isn't a good idea to review the history of Rumsfeld, where he was shaking hands with Saddam as recently as December 20, 1983? And this was only 20 years ago! gwu.edu History of actions is important to keep in mind, such as tossing ribbons or shaking hands with the biggest despot on the planet and pledging arms and support to him.
