It's not in the P-I
Liberal media blog

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer at least deserves praise for avoiding the hippie-dippie moral equivalence that passes for serious commentary these days. Today's lead editorial in the Shi'ittle Post-Intelligencer takes a clear stand against the United States and in favor of the Islamofascist terrorists who strive to destroy us. It wants to release pictures of war crimes, but only those committed by Americans:

We believe the government should not hold back on vital evidence on a matter of such international importance. The best thing we can do to move beyond this scandal is to release accurate information quickly.
at the same time:
What's important is that context -- the difference between information about prison conditions versus a prurient window into criminal behavior.

We don't need to look at the Berg murder to know it was awful.

Yes, the P-I insists on publicizing the crimes of a handful of rogue soldiers, even though it knows such images will be exploited to undermine the entire war effort and to damage the reputation and threaten the safety of all Americans. At the same time, the P-I rationalizes covering up other images that clearly illustrate the true nature of the enemy.

The P-I has a track record of arrogating for itself the competence to interpret photographic images that it declines to show its readers. Last summer the P-I claimed to have seen photographs that suggested that Rachel Corrie had been killed intentionally, not accidentally as an Israeli investigation concluded. Of course the P-I was unable to produce the incriminating photos, because they did not exist. Then as now, the P-I's readers shouldn't simply accept the P-I's interpretation of unshown images, they should demand to see those images for themselves.
