Spirit > The US had no real financial interests there. The place has no resources of great value.

As I said, there were geopolitical reasons eg a gateway to Central Asian oil. Also a strategic foot-hold in Europe. Sure, the US had no financial interests there -- Albania is the poorest country in Europe. Kosovo is considered to be the "heart-land" of Serbia which the Muslims simply took by force of numbers and reproductive proclivity.

> I believe it was a humanitarian mission and a mission to take out a pain in the butt dictator

That was the pretext, just like with Saddam.

But the point of it all is not what the US did but the way that they did it. The US aided and abetted known terrorists.

>>..the Pentagon formed a secret alliance with Islamic groups in an Iran-Contra-style operation. US, Turkish and Iranian intelligence groups worked with the Islamists in what the report calls the "Croatian pipeline".

...mujahideen fighters were also flown in, and that the US was "very closely involved" in the operation, which was designed to help Bosnian Muslims.

The operation is said to have been promoted by the Pentagon, rather than the CIA <<
