The Bushes are the most elite family in America. Bush himself went to Andover-Exeter, Yale and Harvard. You don't get any more elite than that. Bush did live in Midland which gave him a folksy side, but a lot of it is a put-on he uses for political purposes. Both he and his father became national candidates because they could play to both northern and southern crowds with different accents for each crowd. Bush is a both a yankee preppy and a Texas transplant. But he's still from the most elite priviledged family in the nation and never had to work to get to where he is.
