Bush is the one using Berg for political reasons:

MEQUON, Wis. (Reuters) - President Bush (news - web sites) on Friday blamed al Qaeda supporter Abu Musab al-Zarqawi for beheading American Nicholas Berg and cited him as an example of Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s "terrorist ties" before the U.S.-led war in Iraq (news - web sites).

* The above statement by Bush may be completely untrue. Zarqawi has an amputated leg and none of the killers in the tape did. At least it is a very fishy situation and Bush has jumped to a self-serving conclusion. But this thing may be even uglier as we've been discussing. I hope those were Al Qaida killers, but the whole thing looks far too convenient and coincidental.
