$90 might give some people sticker shock, though it is probably a realistic valuation given today's metrics. "Today's metrics." Wow, I just had a flashback to five years ago.

The only IPO auction that I previously paid any real attention to was Andover.Net. The auction results yielded an IPO price of $24, but the company set the actual price at $18 because they did not want to file another amendment. That piece of laziness cost them $16 million. They could have turned the amendment around in one day, two at the most. As it was, the stock opened at 48 1/2.

I don't think that the Google boys will be leaving much cash on the table. To avoid the issue of sticker shock, they might want to do a two-for-one split prior to the IPO.
