Bob, saying that the annual deficit is decreasing implies that it is smaller than the previous deficit. That is the statement that is not correct.

If you are now arguing that the rate of increase is slowing ... OK, I agree, that assertion appears correct (we need to see the final numbers to be sure).

I actually thought you were referring to the decline in the forecast for this fiscal year. That would also be correct. The new forecast is for a record deficit, but a smaller forecasted record deficit!
