Boris_a, there's definitely something wrong with the USA's leadership methodology of selection.

The problem starts with Yale - recruitment by donations and brandname, not merit. No cultural education either.

Now we all have to pay the price for it too.

Also, look no further than India to see how women are accepted in govt leadership roles over there, meanwhile in the USA govt, it's same old, same old. Time warp to the 50s.

Regards,
Amy J PS Now it takes $200M to become a President. Only ten years ago, it took $20M. USA has become a two-tiered society.

we must develop a new way to select candidates for president ... We can't afford such costly mistakes as these guys have wrought.

Some happy few can afford, obviously. The USA in the hands of a small, self-serving minority.

And a lot of "conservative" sheep bleating for them. I hope they don't know what they are doing. Really.

Actually, Boris, I am talking before the fundraising even begins. I think we need to find a way to evaluate potential candidates to make sure they have the 'right stuff' to be president........intelligence, proper training in foreign affairs, understanding of basic econ. principles etc. This is a complicated world and the US is a complex nation.

Clearly, Bush was ill equipped to be president of the US. The highlights of his resume were bought......Yale and Harvard......and there were many weak points. Frankly, I don't think he was qualified to be governor but I've learned that Texans have very different standards from me.
