Hey there Long
"No Bush is his own man. Like when he was Gov. of Texas.I believe you socialists just hate Republicans who won't bend to your will, like Reagan. Do you agree with that premise? "

No I don't.

I don't hate republicans. I love Sen. McCain.

I do not believe whatsoever Bush has an original profound thought also.

I'm wrong sometimes. Not now I feel.

Bush is a frontman for special interests. His own man?
Only if you consider smoozing with industrial, political and medical interest groups a personal relationship. Then again, maybe the oil business did define who he is. In which case, it's no surprise we have record high energy prices under Bush.

So what does he really believe in personally? Well he certainly believes in fundraising and re-election. He also believes in a sort of black and white view of the world, where it's us "good people" against "evil-doers".
This relates to Bush seeming to be religious, but some close to him are dubious it's all an act. Very few people have ever seen him pray or have a religious moment.

Bush always sides with the oil-chemical industry and other polluters, yet will tell you he's for the environment. He says he's for better education, but won't get enough funding for it. He says he's for reforming health care but loads it down with HMO corporate welfare. etc.

Bush admitted to Brit Hume he doesn't read except his morning briefs. These are written up for him by Cheney, Rice and Card. SO in effect these three people control what info goes into Bush's brain. And maybe what he believes in. He seems to have no curiosity what else might be happening in the world and most of his experience is limited to loyalist GOP fundraisers. He probably thinks he's the most popular guy in the world. Meanwhile something like 80% of the people in the world and half this country simply do not trust him.

Bush his own man? Yuh right, like the Wizard Of Oz was.
Frankly, the man behind the curtain is not Bush, but Dick Cheney and his cronies.
