Well, if you successfully commit suicide, you won't be prosecuted, don't worry. ;^) Some people actually have scruples about committing illegal acts whether they will be penalized or not, or so I've heard. <g> Seriously, I just think it shouldn't be illegal on principle--we are just not truly free in life unless opting out is a respected choice. I realize that not many agree. I make the point every now and again just because it makes me feel better to assert it.
