Nawab Muzaffar Ali Khan Sial could not file his nomination papers in the last general elections for want of the requisite educational qualification. Instead his brother in law Reza Khan Sial, whose degree was also declared as bogus, contested the election but lost to Najaf Khan Sial. Muzaffar managed to have a graduate head master sit next to him in the board papers. He was allotted role number 34445 while elementary school headmaster Khizr Hyat was allotted role number 34446. As they sat next to each other at the examination centre, Muzaffar wrote Khizr’s role number on his answer sheet and Khizr his. On Friday when they were taking examination at the government higher secondary school, Kot Chathah (centre number 2), examination superintendent Dur M Hashmi caught them and handed them over to the police. Kot Chathah police registered a case against Muzaffar and Khizr and the two remained in the lock-up for a day and were released on bail. According to the FIR, both were solving each other’s papers. Many political stalwarts in district Jhang could not file their nomination papers in the last general elections for want of educational qualification. Abida Hussain passed the BA examination before the elections. Another three-time MPA, Mahar Aslam Bharwana is also preparing for examination. Former Punjab minister Sheikh Hakim Ali has already done his FA and is preparing for the BA examination.
