Those jobs were lost 30 years before Bush became president. Super high-priced labour that keeps companies captive of unions guarantees that jobs will last only as long as tariffs and other trade barriers keep lower priced and eventually higher quality foreign merchandise out of the country. Successively, Eastern European, Korean, Taiwanese and Chinese goods have replaced and will continue to replace US made ones.

Bush can do little about it. He cannot reduce the cost of living, he cannot make the Rand formula unions change their demands or their lock hold on old US industry. He is powerless to reduce Congressionally mandated government overspending.

Could you clothe yourself, buy hardware, and transportation completely made in the US of A on your present salary? Could you fuel your vehicle from US made fuel?

So now you know where the jobs went and are going. Overseas.
