I admit I am not particularly knowledgeable about the military, but looking at the chart you linked, I note it is dated June 26, 2002. Franks is the commander of CENTCOM at that point, reporting to Rumsfeld. So Abizaid reports to Rumseld. Even granting that you are correct that Myers isn't in that chain of command, I don't see why it makes any difference in YankeeDoodle's overall analysis.

The CENTCOM Commander has changed. The chain of command remains the same.

My point is simply this. If the very first premise in Yankeedoodle's argument is false. The whole article is rubbish imho.
