This is the most recent position I have seen reported. It's from May 3.

Message 20084894

<<John Kerry and his advisers moved to this stance a couple of weeks ago when they declared that the goal of democracy was "too heroic" and the United States should limit itself to seeking "stability." Since then Kerry has held firm. It's not inconceivable, though, that he may gradually abandon this rhetoric and begin running openly as the candidate who will get the United States out of the Iraq quagmire, under the guise of handing it off to NATO or the United Nations.>>

he changed his mind after he saw this!

Seriously, he will be governing from the middle because both houses of govt are likely to remain republican. On iraq he sounds much like the administration with competence as he would portray it in speeches.
Mike, You need to approach Kerry with and open mind just as many of asked others to approach bush that way. It is likely that your picture of the future in an earlier post will scare more folks away from the republicans. We are still all americans and all want to survive and whoever the president is we will need to rally around mike

Kerry wants to give the responsibility for the security of the United States to the UN and other nations.

Or did he change his mind about that?

You have it correct. The UN is his answer - with a dash of NATO. If elected, he pledged to visit various leaders, apologize and ask them if the USA can "become a part of the team again". I haven't seen anything from him which suggests leadership yet. Maybe it is forthcoming.

I agree that we need to do more in regard to the terrorist actions. After 9/11 many people put flags on their cars and their homes. Where are they now? When we see bumper stickers that say something like "No More 9/11's", that might just be a suggestion that this country's population is becoming truly serious about dealing with these terrorists.
