These are the things that could be done to us by politicized Islamists. These are the kinds of things they want to do to us. The list is a very big list, and it is different from natural catastrophes because, well, if you don't understand the distinction without the need for a long winded explanation, nothing I can do. The point started with unclewest stating that we are in an existential struggle. I pointed out the things that could happen to us that would make our existence miserable, and negatively re-define who we are. My point is that the things that can be done to us are very easily achieved. I'm not interested in tsunamis, earthquakes, etc., or George Washington and Ike warning us about miltary/industrial complexes. The question on the table is are we in an existential struggle? I think so, and I pointed out how easily it is for our opponents to damage us and our way of life--heck, they did so on 9/11. Now, if you don't think we are in an existential struggle, cite and support your reasons. I understand we can look backward for answers. The extreme Islamists have said they want to kill us if we don't become subject to their religion or otherwise bend to their will. They have launched and succeeded in their mass attacks. The extreme Islamists are becoming increasingly sophisticated in their attacks. That is all the regression analysis I need--explication of motives with proven performance added to the ease with which havoc can be wreaked on us does it for me. All we have to do is take them at their word and witness what they have actually done.
