I think ridicule is probably appropriate given the circumstances and given your penchant for using it- it isn't nice- but then you often use ridicule when it suits your purpose- so I'm not sure I feel all that sorry for you. I am sure he has the same about of contempt for your ideas that you have expressed for his- I don't see him reviling you personally, I thought it was more about ideas- but no doubt you felt personally attacked- that's very clear.

I'm so glad you are relieved, It's always nice to see a happy ending.

he was merely ridiculing me for having exaggerated fears that make me an object of contempt.........

For many of us, I think that contempt is too strong a term. I think pity might be more appropriate.
