Caye Caulker...wow...THAT's laid back. Do any bonefishing in the reef shallows?

I edited the last post...might want to re-check it for fun.

About twenty years ago I spent three weeks on a small uninhabited Caye ~3 miles off Belize with a buddy, a handful of teenaged locals, a big bag of rice, a big bag of local produce, some fishing equipment and a boat with no motor. Dickhead who dropped us off didn't leave the motor, but we'd pole out to go fishing.

Ate fish, lobsters, shellfish, egret, coconuts and rice. There was enough rain that you could dig a hole 3 feet down and get drinking water, although it would be salty the next day.

Once the local produce ran out, we started trying to figure out how to get back to land. Finally a fisherman took us all back in a dugout. A huge storm whipped up about halfway back and we all bailed furiously. A bunch of dolphins swam next to the canoe during the storm.
