I think some trader dropped peanut butter, the kind with hydrogentaed vegetable oil in it, into his keyboard on Friday and the official program got stuck on sell quite by accident.

Quite off topic, its really quite amazing that basic foodstuffs have so much unneccessary crap in them.

Hallo 1-HEA-RTA-TTAK?

Heres the first link on a google search:

io.com

1 gram of trans fat a day apparently leads to a 20 - 25% increase in heart disease. Canadians (I don't have US stats handy) apparently consume 10 grams on average daily. Would assume the US number is similar.

The Atkin's craze no doubt is jacking these numbers up ever higher right now across North America. Surprisingly many people are still unaware of this issue.

We've always eaten well, cooked most things from scratch but even in our restricted supplies found many products with transfats hiding. Like some bagels, tortilla shells. Kids treats are a bad source, but we don't have much of that around ever. It was possible to find alternatives to all the affected items, but you really have to read labels while shopping.

Clues: the terms "hydrogentated vegetable oil" or "vegetable oil shortening".

Yes, that means Crisco is out. Pie crusts, out. And most processed foods that use oils, out.

Seems like a few vendors are noticing sales hits and are switching, but not enough.

Investment content: stents and medical supply co's ought to be a growth industry.

back on topic. Still waiting for the ear to resolve.
